Arianna Zanolini

Principal Researcher

Arianna brings over fifteen years of experience at the intersection of research, implementation, and education policy across Sub-Saharan Africa. She joins YouthImpact from FCDO, where she served as Senior Education Adviser, first in Tanzania leading a large payment-for-results programme for education systems strengthening, then in Malawi, where she led the scale-up and evaluation of a structured pedagogy mathematics curriculum reform now adopted in every primary school in the country. Before FCDO, she spent five years in Zambia as Country Director at the American Institutes for Research, Health Economist at the Centre for Infectious Disease Research in Zambia, and NIH Fogarty Fellow, leading evaluations in early childhood development, education, and health. Arianna holds a PhD in Public Policy from the Harris School at the University of Chicago, where she worked for several years as a researcher in Professor James Heckman's group, contributing to work on the long-term returns to early childhood investment.
