2024 has been a milestone year for Youth Impact – ten years of growth, ten years of learning, ten years of impact.

We call upon the new Ministry of Child Welfare & Basic Education to reflect on the gaps recently identified in Botswana’s basic education in Youth Impact’s annual survey, and implore the Ministry to integrate a focus on foundational education into its policies.

For our 10th anniversary we convened a group of 65 partners from 10+ countries to celebrate the past and plan for the future. Our ‘10 Years of Learning’ Partners Summit was held over three days in Maun, Botswana.

Youth Impact has been awarded a Klaus J. Jacobs Best Practice Prize. They were recognized for ConnectEd, its remote, low-tech education program which delivers simple math tutorials by phone and text message.

We all know that data is critical in helping to identify gaps, target interventions, monitor impact, and make evidence-based decisions. Ideally, to make real-time, data-driven action, the evidence needs to be collected and analyzed quickly.

Learning implementers see implementation as an opportunity to have some impact immediately, while simultaneously learning how to become even more impactful in the future.
